The stage is set for tonight’s Heritage Conference Volleyball Championships, presented by CNB Bank at the KCAC, and we’ll have coverage of the tournament on Renda Digital TV.
Two best-of-three matchups will kick-off action at 6 p.m. when West Shamokin, the top seed in the west at 14-2, battles conference newcomer Conemaugh Township, who finished second in the east at 12-4. Both teams met in Rural Valley back on September 26th and the Wolves cruised to a 3-0 win.
Wolves coach Malinda Oesterling brings a team with only one senior – Maggie Brewer – to the KCAC, but they’re a resilient bunch.
Oesterling adds Conemaugh Township brings lots of size to the court.
Indians coach Laura Swank is proud of what her team has done in their first year with the Heritage Conference, especially since they knew it was a competitive bunch of schools.
Swank knows West Shamokin is a speedy group.
The next semifinal features Northern Cambria battling Marion Center. The Colts claimed the top spot in the east with a 14-2 record, while the Stingers clinched the second seed in the west at 13-3. In their prior matchup this season, the Stingers swept the Colts in three sets.
Marion Center last appeared in the Heritage Conference semifinals in 2021 but was knocked out by West Shamokin. Coach Greg Pack said his team is eager to get another shot at the KCAC.
Pack also knows getting past Northern Cambria again will not be an easy task.
Colts coach Alyssa Walters said she’s proud of what her team has done over the year.
Walters adds the loss to Marion Center earlier this year will motivate her team tonight.
Coverage of tonight’s games begins at 5:45 p.m. on Renda Digital TV, presented by H20 Restoration. You can access the stream on all four Renda Media websites and Facebook pages.
