Earlier today, officials with Diamond Drug and White Township held a ceremony to rededicate Kolter Drive in honor of Gilbert “Gib” Zilner, the company’s longtime owner.
Kolter Drive, where Diamond has many properties, now carries the honorary title of Gilbert Zilner Boulevard. His son Mark Zilner talks about how much this means to the family and the employees.
Zilner’s wife Joan talked about how Gib would react to seeing this tribute.
Zilner purchased the Diamond Drug Store in 1970 and expanded it to serve nursing homes and correctional facilities across the United States. On top of that, he served the community with his involvement in organizations like Aging Services, the Indiana County Airport Authority, the Knights of Columbus and other groups. He died in September of 2022.
