The Penguins don’t play again until tomorrow night in St. Louis but they’ve got some new injury concerns. Kris Letang and Noel Acciari have undisclosed injuries and coach Mike Sullivan said yesterday that both are being evaluated. Ryan Shea replaced Letang on the blue line at practice yesterday. Shea’s been a healthy scratch through the first four games of the season. Defenseman Jon Ludvig skated as a forward replacing Acciari.
Sullivan knows the Penguins’ up-and-down 2-2 start is frustrating for fans. It is for him, too.
The Penguins waived forward Jansen Harkins, hoping he clears waivers by 2 o’clock this afternoon and can be sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The team also terminated the contract of forward Karel Plasek, whom they acquired in a trade with Vancouver this week.
