Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. said that one person died in a motorcycle crash in eastern Indiana County late last night.
Overman identified the deceased as 31-year-old Leroy James Moyer of Cherry Tree. Moyer was riding his Kawasaki KX 250 Motorcycle east on Route 286 in the area of Green Township when the motorcycle went off the southern berm of the highway and hit a utility pole head-on. Overman said that Moyer died on impact. Overnman said the death was accidental in nature due to blunt force trauma to the head and chest. Moyer was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
Commodore fire department, Citizen’s Ambulance, and State Police from the Indiana Barracks were assisting with the investigation. An Autopsy will not be performed, but toxicology tests will be taken.
