An Indiana County bank is continuing preparations for an event coming later this week to benefit the Chevy Chase Community Center.
S&T Bank will hold a “Fill The Bus” event on Thursday, October 19th from Noon to 7 PM at the S&T Parking lot at 8th and Water Streets. The purpose is to help restock supplies that the Chevy Chase Community Center is losing or cannot get to because their building is closed in connection with the deadly shooting on October 8th.
Mark Buterbaugh with S&T Bank, Jenny Rairigh of the Community Center and Linda Mitchell of IndiGO came together to organize the event. Mitchell provided the bus, and Buterbaugh consulted with Rairigh on the Community Center side. Buterbaugh talked about his consultation with Rairigh.
A bus for the event is being supplied by IndiGo, and that bus will be parked at the lot with volunteers loading items on board it on the day of collection. Buterbaugh was amazed by how fast this fundraiser came together.
