Week eight of the high school football season arrives with four games on our Renda Media stations, two of them on Renda Digital TV.
On WCCS and Renda Digital TV, it’s 2-5 Homer-Center at 3-4 West Shamokin. Homer-Center coach Greg Page says finding a way to stop the Wolves’ Lou Swartz, who leads the Heritage Conference in rushing with 1,443 yards and 21 touchdowns, is the key for the Wildcats.
West Shamokin coach Jon McCullough is concerned about bottling up the Wildcats’ fine running back, Landon Hill.
On Cat Country 106.3 FM, 5-2 River Valley will host 1-6 Conemaugh Valley. River Valley coach Jess Houser would love to get a win for his seniors in their final home game.
Houser says Conemaugh Valley may be new to the conference, but not to River Valley.
Blue Jays coach Matt Kent knew competing in the Heritage Conference would be tough.
Kent says stopping River Valley will be tough, but he hopes to slow them down.
On 92.5 FM U92, 5-2 Purchase Line visits 2-5 Marion Center for a backyard rivalry game. Purchase Line coach Matt Falisec says his team has to string together wins after stumbling last week against United Valley.
Stingers coach Adam Rising knows the Red Dragons will be fired up.
The other Heritage Conference games tonight include first place 7-0 United Valley hosting 3-4 Portage; 3-4 Penns Manor on the road at 6-1 Northern Cambria; and 5-2 Cambria Heights welcoming 0-7 Conemaugh Township.
On WDAD and Renda Digital TV tonight, two 2-5 teams get together at Andy Kuzneski Field. Indiana will host Hampton. The Talbots are 2-1 in the Greater Allegheny Conference and Indiana is 0-4. Indiana coach Brad Wright says that with injuries impacting his team, younger underclassmen are gaining some tough varsity experience.
The Indiana Total Therapy Pregame Show begins at 6:30 for all of our games, with the exception of Homer-Center/West Shamokin, which airs at 6:15.
