The Penguins fell behind early but turned it up with a barrage of goals in the first period last night to defeat the New York Rangers.

The Pens lost forward Jared McCann with an undisclosed injury in the second period. McCann scored the game-winning goal on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Penguins are tied with the Bruins for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Division, but the Bruins have two games in hand. The Flyers are two points in back of the Pens. The Islanders top the division, five points ahead of Pittsburgh and Boston and two points ahead of Washington.
