The West Shamokin Wolves continued their dominant season as a formidable three-point effort helped them beat the Homer-Center Wildcats, 59-30, in their District 6 quarterfinal match-up Wednesday evening.
Ezick Olinger led the scoring column with 12 points and he was helped by Eric Spencer and Justin Smulik, who had 11 points each.

The Wolves will face Heritage Conference rival Penns Manor, a 74-66 overtime winner over Southern Huntington last night, at West Shamokin this Saturday.
In other District 6 boys’ 2A action, the United Lions posted a season-high 12 three-point field goals to defeat West Branch, 71-53.
The Lions were led by Jacob Boring, who finished the night with 22 points and six three-point field goals.

With Portage beating Bishop McCort 72-53, it sets up United for a trip to Portage on Saturday night. Lions coach Matt Rodkey says he knows what they’re up against.

GIRLS CLASS-AAA
In District 6 girls’ 3A action, the Marion Center Stingers saw their season come to an end Wednesday evening, as they were beaten by the undefeated Forest Hills Rangers, 55-34.
The Stingers were led in scoring by freshman guard Lydia Miller, who posted a 14-point performance, and Alexa Ackerman, who posted nine points.
