Local legislators are reacting to Governor Wolf’s announcement on Monday easing some of the gathering size restrictions and lifting travel restrictions related to Coronavirus.
The changes announced yesterday included eliminating out-of-state travel restrictions, including the requirement of a Covid-19 test after travelling outside the state or to quarantine for 14 days upon returning to the state. The announcement also included changes to gathering sizes, putting a cap of 15 percent of the maximum occupancy for indoor events or 20 percent for outdoor events, regardless of the size of the venue.
State Senator Joe Pittman called it a step in the right direction.
State Representative Jim Struzzi said that more needs to be done.
In his statement yesterday, Wolf said that Pennsylvanians should continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and continue to wash their hands to continue to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
