Fans of the sport of Pickleball will be happy to note that today is the ribbon cutting for a new set of Pickleball courts at Kennedy King Park.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 10:00 this morning, but the Indiana Pickleball Club will have their first tournament on the new courts starting at 8:15 this morning. The new courts are at the park at the intersection of Josephine Avenue and Spring Street near the Indiana Senior High School. The sport, which is best described as a large version of table tennis, is a popular sport that has been played at various locations, including Indiana’s YMCA.
The public is invited, and there will be some extra gear there, like paddles and whiffle balls, to allow those curious about the sport to give it a try. After the ribbon cutting, the final playoff games of the tournament will be held.
