Pennsylvania Senators Bob Casey and John Fetterman have sent a letter to leaders in both the US House and Senate to call for legislation to provide aid to Ukraine in its ongoing fight against Russia.
In that letter, the senators said that congress needs to “act immediately to advance legislation that will provide critical and sustained security and economic support for Ukraine to the President’s desk for his signature.” Casey has consistently denounced the Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying it was a violation of international law.
The letter, which was signed by six other senators, said that while the recent bipartisan statement of support for Ukraine was appreciated, more action is needed. It said that “Congress cannot sit idly by while Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine continues.”
