On Wednesday, Clymer Borough Council approved a resolution to file an application for some grant money to pay for a stormwater upgrade project.
The borough is asking for $468,800 in Local Service Account grant funding, which comes from gaming revenue in the state. The project will focus on the stormwater system upgrades in the 6th Street area. Borough Manager Sonya Schrenkel said that the timeline will depend on if and when they will receive grant money. She added that this is the second time the borough has applied for the grant.
In other business it was announced that water main flushing will start on October 10th on Adams, Penn, Jefferson and Harrison Streets along with Dixon Road. Schrenkel also announced that trick or treating in Clymer will be on October 29th. A Halloween parade will start at 1:30, with the lineup starting at 1:00. Trick or treating will follow the parade until 4 PM. Meanwhile, Clymer Fire Comapny’s Trunk or Treat will start after the parade. Those giving out candy should report to the fire department no later than 1:00 PM
