The assistant superintendent for the Indiana School District has resigned his post to take over as superintendent in the Antietam school district near Reading.
Jeffrey Boyer has served as Indiana’s Assistant Superintendent since the start of the 2014 school year, and will now take over for Antietam’s outgoing superintendent Melissa Brewer. Boyer has over 17 years of experience as a school administrator. Boyer is set to receive $150,000 salary in his new positon.
School Board President Walter Schroth told us that he was excited for Boyer but at the same time, he would be missed in the district.
Boyer’s first day will be the start of the school year in the Antietam School District. This comes as Dale Kirsch, Indiana’s current superintendent, is resigning, and will be replaced by Mike Vuckovich at the start of the school year. We had learned that Boyer was one of three internal candidates, along with Coordinator of Instructional Technology Bob Rizzo and Ben Franklin Elementary Principal Dr. Michael Minich, who were not interviewed for Kirsch’s position. Schroth would not comment on that issue, citing confidentiality on personnel matters.
