The Heritage Conference girls’ basketball standings are coming into focus, but there is still much to be settled.
A United victory against West Shamokin on Monday night strengthened United’s position. The Lions beat the Wolves, 42-36, in a game heard on U92.5 FM.
HERITAGE CONFERENCE GIRLS

Todd Marino’s recap on U92:
Hear a full replay of the game here.
West Shamokin’s girls are 13-3 in the conference standings; Homer-Center is 12-3 and still has to play Purchase Line after last night’s game was postponed. That would most likely happen on Wednesday because Purchase Line is scheduled against Blairsville tonight. United is 12-3 and has yet to play its second game against winless Saltsburg. In the end, there could be a three-way tie for first, with Homer-Center appearing to hold the tiebreaker edge, according to several coaches who have run some tiebreaker scenarios. United would be second, and West Shamokin third.
That would set up the semifinals on Thursday with Homer-Center playing host to Penns Manor and United playing host to West Shamokin.
HERITAGE CONFERENCE BOYS
West Shamokin 62, United 52
Penns Manor 47, Saltsburg 44
On the boys’ side, undefeated West Shamokin has the top seed, followed by United, which is now 12-3 with Saltsburg still to play. Marion Center is the fourth place team and would play at West Shamokin on Thursday night. United would play host to Penns Manor.
TONIGHT: Purchase Line girls at Blairsville on Cat Country 106.3 FM at 7 PM.
