A former Indiana County broadcaster will be honored by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters tonight.
Tonight, the PAB will induct Ray Goss into the association’s Radio Hall of Fame. Goss has over 60 years of sports broadcasting experience. He was on the air for many years on WDAD and WQMU and was the General Manager of the stations before co-founding WCCS in October of 1983 with Mark Harley.
Goss is also the long-time voice of Duquesne University Basketball, having broadcast their games on multiple Pittsburgh-area radio stations. In 2008, he added author to his resume with the book “Misadventures in Broadcasting” that detailed some of the more unbelievable stories he experienced in his career.
Also being honored at tonight’s event at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh are Steelers and Pitt Panthers play-by-play man Bill Hillgrove for the Television Hall of Fame, attorney Edgar Snyder with the PAB Gold Medal and the Miracle League of Southwestern PA with the Janet and Lew Klein “Making a Difference” award.
