An annual fundraising tradition continues today with the United Way of Indiana County kicking off their 2023-24 fundraising campaign.
This year’s kickoff has a historical theme to it, using the 1904 World’s Fair as its backdrop. The event will be held today at the Mack Park starting at 5:00 PM, and admission is $35 with raffle tickets also available for sale. On top of the music, food and basket raffles that are traditionally a part of the campaign, there is also an opportunity to take a ride in a tethered hot air balloon supplied by ReMax realty and Rich Gallo for an additional $50.
Campaign Co-Chair James Rickard said that the overall theme for the campaign is Kindness Creates Hope, and he talks about how that will play into the 1904 World’s Fair theme.
During the kickoff event, the goal for the fundraiser will also be announced. Proceeds from the event help the United Way support its member agencies in Indiana County.
