On Thursday night, the Homer-Center School Board heard about early efforts to possibly bring solar power to the district.
School Board member Dan Fabin said that the Buildings and Grounds Committee is in the early stages of looking into solar power as a way to reduce energy costs to the district.
In other business, the board approved the yearly evaluation for Superintendent Ralph Cecere. Board president Michael Bertig said the board had high praise for Cecere’s work as he earned a 4.7 out of 5 in the evaluation.
One other item that was discussed was the early arrival of parents of elementary school students to pick them up, with some reportedly arriving very early, which is creating a hazard for high school dismissal. Cecere said that he will be sending notice to elementary student parents to arrive no earlier than 3:10 PM to pick up kids.
