Firefighters made quick work of an electrical fire yesterday along Greenville Road, on the edge of Homer City in Center Township.
Five fire companies were summoned. Homer City Fire Chief Terry Gardner said firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor, quickly traced the fire to its source, and extinguished it. They then checked for extensions, found none, and ventilated the home. Gardner said the renters who live in the house all got out safely after calling 911. He said five companies were summoned in case the fire became a major structure fire.
