Judge William Martin will conduct motions hearings today for two inmates who were involved in an incident January 8th at SCI Pine Grove in White Township.
21-year-old Bryan Sanchez-Osorio of Bethlehem and 26-year-old James Bonilla-Santiago of Reading are both facing charges. Sanchez-Osorio is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated harassment by a prisoner, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment. Bonilla-Santiago is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
Sanchez-Osorio is serving 28-and-a-half to 80 years in prison for the attempted rape and murder of a Lehigh University student in 2015. Bonilla-Santiago is serving four to nine years for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, kidnapping her, and holding in the trunk of his care for more than three hours in November of 2016.
Both defendants were transferred yesterday from the state prison to the Indiana County Jail, where they will be housed until the end of their trials, which are scheduled to begin on Monday. Indiana County District Attorney moved to consolidate the trials in court last Friday.
