The Pitt Panthers played their first game in eight days and lost for the fifth time in their last six, falling to Georgia Tech, 71-65.
Plagued by turnovers, the Panthers also struggled from the free throw line, hitting only 8 of 15.
Ithiel Horton scored 18 points to lead Pitt. Au’Diese Toney added 15 and Justin Champagnie and Xavier Johnson added 13. Johnson sat for much of the second half after getting into early foul trouble.
Pitt returns to action on Wednesday afternoon at home against North Carolina State. The airtime on WCCS will be 4:00.
