IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll was honored Friday with the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Laurel Highlands Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Driscoll was awarded the honor for his commitment to leadership in service to the community and for his recognition of service to others. Driscoll said he was honored to receive the award during Friday’s William Penn Luncheon.
Driscoll also talked about how the Scouting movement shaped him as an individual, saying it taught him a measure of self-reliance and self-motivation.

He joins 18 other recipients for this award, including County Commissioner Rod Ruddock, Todd Brice of S&T Bank, Representative Dave Reed, Senator Don White and the Zilner Family.
