GOLF
What a day on the golf course yesterday for Indiana freshman Ryan Bell, who caught fire over the last five holes and tied the school record with a five-under par 31 at Indiana Country Club, helping snap a three-game team losing streak. Indiana downed Penn Trafford, 185-200, with four golfers under 40. Bell played the final five holes in five-under par, eagling the par five fifth, and knocking in birdie putts on 6, 7, and 9. Harrison Martineau, Caden Force, and Hunter Martin all shot 38, and Trevor Todd shot a 40.
The win clinches a WPIAL team playoff spot for Indiana. The individual section qualifier is Monday at Manor Valley Golf Club in Export, Westmoreland County.
