If you’re looking for a good summer read, here’s a suggestion…it’s “The Widow’s Guide to Edible Mushrooms”, a book of short fiction by IUP English professor Dr. Chauna Craig. The book published last year has been named a winner in the short story category of the 2018 Next Generation Indie Books Awards. In addition, the book has been named a finalist in the Foreword INDIES Awards.
IUP says in a news release that the category judge described Dr. Craig’s book as “a lovely collection of well-written, well-conceived character-based short stories that truly deserve first place.”
Dr. Craig, who came to IUP in 2000 and was named professor in 2010, is a past recipient of the the IUP Distinguished Faculty Award for Creative Arts and both Outstanding Professor and Best Advisor Award as voted on by IUP English majors.
