Indiana Borough’s summer paving program begins today, and should be completed in just a few days, barring weather or equipment problems.
Public Works Director Dave Fairman says the paving schedule includes North 12th from Philadelphia Street to the borough line, Station Avenue from Philadelphia Street to Chestnut Street, 11th Street from Washington Street crossing over Philly to Chestnut Street, 10th Street from Church Street to Chestnut Street, the 1000 block of Church Street, and Oak Street from 12th Street to the cul-de-sac. There will be no parking permitted on any of the affected streets during the paving.
Fairman says the workers will probably take two days for milling and three days for paving. He adds that there is a twenty-foot section of four-foot high stone tunnel that has collapsed underneath the 400 block of Water Street that will need replaced this summer, and 400 feet of 36-inch storm sewer pipe that will need replaced on the west end of town.
