The Penguins yesterday announced the hiring of former San Jose Sharks general manager Doug Wilson as senior advisor of hockey operations, saying he will “provide counsel, opinions and expertise to hockey operations leadership on all matters including personnel decisions.”
Wilson was the Sharks’ GM from 2003 to ’22, resigning in April of last year due to health reasons. The Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman played sixteen seasons in the NHL, fourteen of them with the Blackhawks and the final two with the Sharks.
