A garage was destroyed in East Mahoning Township early yesterday afternoon.
Indiana County 911 initially dispatched the Marion Center, Plumville and Clymer fire departments along with Citizens Ambulance and the RIT Team to a home on Black Road between Richmond and Leasure Roads at 1:48 PM. Rossiter and Perry Township fire departments were called a few minutes later to assist, while Commodore and Creekside fire departments were on standby detail for Clymer and Plumville fire departments, respectively.
Assistant Fire Chief Gavin Misko said that the cause is believed to be electrical in nature, The garage was a complete loss, but he added that crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby house and a barn that housed animals. No animals or people were hurt in the fire. Crews were on the scene for over 3 hours putting the fire out.
