Tomorrow, there will be a lot of music in Downtown Indiana as the Westsylvania Jazz and Blues Festival will bring many jazz and blues artists to our region for free concerts throughout the day.
The festival is now in its fifth year and has been providing the Memorial Day weekend with a great soundtrack as the festival has brought in local, regional and nationally-known jazz and blues artists to the area for the one-day event. But this year, the party is starting early. Dave Ferguson with the festival and also with one of the performing groups, The Dad Band, said that tonight, two local establishments will host jam sessions. Those sessions will start at 9:00 at H.R. Stinehouse (next to Bruno’s) and at the Park Inn by Radisson’s RBG Bar and Grill.
The festival kicks off with The Dad Band at 10:00 with local and regional bands performing throughout the day at IRMC Park. Karen Salser with the Indiana Arts Council says that you can find the complete schedule online at www.westsylvaniajazzandblues.org or on the Indiana Arts Council Facebook page.
The headline act, The Commonheart, will perform at 7:30, and several of the bands taking part will head to local establishments for special late night sessions.
