While there were many criminal call hearings yesterday, some of those hearings resulted in people being sentenced yesterday.
35-year-old Stephanie Shaner was ordered to pay fines and restitution and serve six months of probation for a charge of retail theft. A charge of receiving stolen property was not prosecuted as part of the plea agreement. This was for a theft at the Burrell Township Walmart on May 8th, where she was caught taking items out of the store without ringing them up at the self-checkout station. When confronted by loss prevention personnel, she fled, then dumped all the stolen items by her car. She was later picked up by police at her home.
Also sentenced yesterday was 19-year-old Ryan Bloom of Indiana. He was ordered to serve two years of probation for a charge of theft by unlawful taking. And 25-year-old Donald Jones of Homer City was sentenced to one year of probation for a charge of Reckless Endangerment.
