Prior to Tuesday’s roster deadline, the Steelers traded offensive lineman Kendrick Green to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 6th-round pick in 2025.
Green was the Steelers’ third-round pick out of Illinois in 2021 but was projected to be a third-string lineman this season. The trade opens an opportunity for rookie Spencer Anderson to move up on the depth chart.
NFL insider Josina Anderson also tweeted the Steelers are releasing tight end Zach Gentry. He appeared in 40 games with Pittsburgh since 2019 and caught 39 passes for 303 yards.
NFL teams need to trim their roster to 53 players by 4 p.m.
