Gas prices once again increased in the last week.
According to Triple-A, the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is $2.75 a gallon this morning. That’s an increase of two cents from yesterday, five cents higher than a week ago, 18 cents from last month and 10 cents from where it was this time last year. The national average also continues to go up, as that average has gone up by three cents to $2.45 a gallon since Monday. The Energy Information Administration Gas demand has decreased slightly, while the price of crude oil continues to increase.
Indiana County’s average price is $2.84 a gallon, which ties it with Cambria County for highest gas price average in our region. Westmoreland County’s average is the lowest in the region at $2.71 a gallon. Armstrong and Clearfield counties average comes to $2.79 a gallon, with Jefferson County is at $2.81 a gallon. Crawford, Greene and Warren county tie for the highest average in the state at $2.85 a gallon, while the lowest average is in Lawrence County at $2.56 a gallon.
Gas prices across Indiana Borough, White Township, Homer City, Blairsville and Burrell Township are $2.85 a gallon.
