IUP is offering a free class on cyber-security for middle and high school students and teachers.
The one-week camp will be offered June 18th to the 24th at IUP from 9-4 each day. The GenCyber cyber security camp is being paid for by the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency. Dr. Waleed Farag, a computer science professor, will serve as the program’s director, and will focus on the fundamentals of cyber security and safe online behavior. Students will receive a Sphero Ollie robot to take home with them, while teachers will receive Act 48 credits, a stipend and mileage to cover their travel expenses. Also, lunch will be served during the camp.
