At the White Township Supervisors meeting Wednesday night, discussion continued on noise and special event issues.
The supervisors received in their correspondence a proposed ordinance that would require a special event permit for any events in the township. This met with opposition from some in attendance, including Donna Davis with Four Footed Friends, who said that the rules suggested by the proposal and applying for a permit would drive a lot of events away because it would cost these fundraisers more money.
Speaking as a supervisor but not as the chairperson, Supervisor Gail McCauley said that it was sad that the township would consider this ordinance, and that it would be detrimental to families and impossible to enforce due to a lack of local police.
She suggested that the parties involved in the noise dispute seek out a conflict resolution expert to settle the matter.
In other business, the board approved hiring consultant Mike Wolfe to help with the treatment of invasive Tree-Of-Heaven plants in White’s Woods.
