Pitt quarterback Phil Jurkovec has been named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list. He has already been named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award for Division One Player of the Year.
Cornerback/kick returner MJ Devonshire is on the preseason watch lists for the Bednarik Award as top defensive player in college football and the Paul Hornung Award as most versatile player. Devonshire had another interception in Pitt’s scrimmage last weekend, and coach Pat Narduzzi says he is well deserving of all of the hype.
Narduzzi says he has pretty much decided who his starters will be for the season opener September 2nd against Wofford, but he declined to name them just yet.
