The power play continues to be a sore spot. The Penguins were 0-for-6 last night and are 0-for-19 in their last five. The Ranger’s game-winning goal came on the power play, as they were 1-for-4.

In six power plays last night, the Penguins only had seven shots.
The Pens will get time to work on the power play. The home games scheduled tonight and Thursday against New Jersey are postponed indefinitely due to an outbreak of covid-19 in the Devils locker room. Four more players added to the Devil’s covid list yesterday makes ten players on the sidelines.
The Penguins will play the Islanders in New York on Saturday.
Defenseman Brian Dumoulin was placed on long-term injured reserve yesterday with a lower body injury. He will miss a minimum of ten games and 24 days off the ice. Six Penguins defensemen are out with injuries, although Mike Matheson is back skating with the team. First-year pro Will Reilly, who has never played a professional hockey game, can be recalled from the taxi squad if Matheson does not return by Saturday.
