Ben Roethlisberger says he is willing to help the team with his huge salary cap hit. Big Ben tells The Athletic that he will do everything he can to help the team despite his $41.2 million cap hit for the 2021 season. He also said he is pretty sure he wants to go one more year and thinks he can give the team a real chance at winning.
Owner Art Rooney said yesterday he has made it clear to Roethlisberger they want him back, but it can’t be at the current price tag. Rooney also said yesterday that coach Mike Tomlin’s contract situation will get worked out. Tomlin is signed for one more year plus a club option for 2022. General manager Kevin Colbert has been working on one-year contracts for years and Rooney said he kind of feels Colbert will sign on again for next season, but, he added, “…who knows?”
