White Township Supervisors heard from a citizen that brought a noise complaint to the township.
At last night’s meeting, a few people who live near a gun store on Old Route 119 said that they have been hearing shooting from an outdoor shooting range that is set up on the property, and the sound carries down to where they live. Township Manager Milt Lady said that there is nothing legally they can do about it, as they have no noise ordinance. Lady added that he and assistant township manager Chris Anderson will visit the business to see if there are efforts being done to try and suppress the noise.
In other business, the township supervisors discussed the recent road tour, with one of the stops being Risinger Road. Some citizens have requested a turn-around area at the end of the road, but Milt Lady said that the federal government will have to be brought in as well, as the road had been “dead-ended” due to the highway bypass being very close. The supervisors approved a motion to go ahead and start work on the process to get the turn-around area taken care of, but there’s no guarantee on how much it will cost, how long it could take or even if the federal government will allow the cul-de-sac.
Supervisors also approved bids for paving and seal coating, with the winning bids going to Force Paving and Suit-Kote.
