Diamond Drug and Diamond Medical Supply has earned another award honoring them as one of the region’s best family businesses.
Diamond Drug, currently owned and operated by the Zilner Family, was honored by the Pittsburgh Business Times as one of the 2018 Family Business Award recipients. The business was founded in 1970 when Gilbert and Joan Zilner purchased a retail pharmacy in Downtown Indiana. They have expanded that to now include an institutional division that supplies pharmacuticals to correctional facilities, long-term care facilities and other businesses. Gilbert and Joan are currently vice president and president of the corporation, respectively, while Mark Zilner serves as the company’s COO.
The honor was announced in the May 4th-10th edition of the Pittsburgh Business Times, and join 20 other family-owned businesses in the Pittsburgh Region in receiving the honors. The awards were handed out at a dinner May 1st in Pittsburgh.
