River Valley’s girls’ golf team opened the year with a second-place finish at the Park Hills Invitational in Altoona on Thursday, finishing with a score of 79. Golfers included Sara Bollinger, Madigan Dunlap, Maren Dunlap, and Carley Weimer. Hollidaysburg won the scramble with a score of 65.
On Friday, River Valley topped Derry with a score of 215. Maren Dunlap shot a team low of 48.
West Shamokin’s boys’ golf team saw four golfers place at the Happy Valley Invitational at Penn State. Alex Talmadge finished first out of 73 golfers with a 71, which was one under par. Logan Geist medaled with a 43 and Travis Johns added a 45.
