While no new agreement was reached, progress was made in the negotiation sessions held Monday and yesterday between the State System of Higher Education and the union representing faculty at IUP and the other state-owned schools.
According to a news release, both sides discussed licensed counselors, consolidation issues and assistant chairs during the two-day negotiation session. Talks are expected to resume on August 22nd, which is less than a week before classes get underway at IUP. Teachers will continue to work under the terms of the previous contract, which expired on June 30th. Negotiators have not yet set a date by which they expect to complete contract talks.
Meanwhile, the Coaches’ contract negotiation teams for both APSCUF and PASSHE will meet again on August 28th.
