The Steelers are back to work in Latrobe today, with just three more days to go before Friday night’s exhibition opener at Tampa Bay.
Coach Mike Tomlin will be hoping to get his battered secondary back together, especially his safeties. Minkah Fitzpatrick returned to the team after an excused absence over the weekend and Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal have been out with ankle injuries. Another safety, Tre Norwood, suffered a lower leg injury on Sunday and was being evaluated yesterday. In addition to the safeties, the cornerbacks have been chipped up. Rookie Joey Porter Jr. sat out Sunday with an ankle injury and fellow rookie Cory Trice Jr. is out for the season after suffering a knee injury.
The Steelers will practice at 1:55 this afternoon.
