The Pirates yesterday traded lefty reliever Nik Turley to the Oakland A’s for cash considerations.
Turley made 25 appearances last season and was 0-3 with one save, a 4.98 ERA, 20 strikeouts and 11 walks in 21-and-two-thirds innings over 25 appearances last season. He’d been designated for assignment on Tuesday when the Bucs claimed outfielder Troy Stokes Jr. off waivers from the Detroit Tigers.
