The Pirates yesterday claimed outfielder Troy Stokes Jr. off waivers from the Tigers, and designated left-handed relief pitcher Nik Turley for assignment.
Stokes missed last season after breaking his hand in spring training. He’s never played in the Majors and has hit .249 in seven minor league seasons.
