On Tuesday night, Homer City Borough Council reminded residents of a new traffic regulation at an intersection that has seen a lot of accidents.
Council member Joe Iezzi, Sr. and Police Chief Anthony Jellison reminded residents that there is now no turning on red coming off Route 56 onto Route 119. Iezzi said that most of the accidents are due to people not paying close attention at the intersection.
On top of the signs that are already installed at the intersection next to the traffic lights, borough council approved the installation of two additional signs at eye level to further warn people about the new traffic rules. Chief Jellison added that there would be some additional patrols in the area to enforce the new rule.
In other business, it was announced that milling and paving operations will get underway next week on Bryant and Lincoln Streets.
