Pittsburgh Penguin Kasperi Kappanen is expected to arrive in Pittsburgh today from Finland. He had been delayed in getting to Penguins Training Camp as he was not able to acquire a work visa in time.
Kappenen will face another delay as he will not be allowed to rejoin the team until he completes a seven-day NHL-mandated quarantine. That means he will definitely miss the team’s season opening games in Philadelphia, and the earliest he would be able to play would be the home opener against the Washington Capitals on January 17th. If he would be able to be available, he still might not be able to play as he would not have any practices in.
Pens Head Coach Mike Sullivan said that he would talk with Kappenen about how he feels physically and mentally before making a decision on when he could play.
