The United way of Indiana County has announced funding for their emergency food and shelter program, and local non-profit and governmental groups are encouraged to apply for the funding.
The United way received $51,455 in federal funds for the program through the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program through the department of Homeland Security. The money will be used to supplement and add on to the work being done by these various organizations assisting with food, shelter, rent or mortgage and utility assistance.
Groups interested in applying for these funds must call the United Way at 724-463-0277 for an application or stop in their office on Church Street for more information. Applications are due to the United Way by May 11th.
