Tonight, two police departments will take part in the annual National Night Out event.
In Indiana Borough, the event will be held in IRMC Park on North 7th Street in Downtown Indiana. Along with appearances by police officers and emergency vehicles, there will be a bounce house, music by Al Cragie, refreshments from Kona Ice and Insomnia Cookies and other family friendly activities. The festivities run from 5-7 tonight.
Clymer police will hold their own National Night Out event from 7-9 PM at the Clymer Fire Department on Sherman Street. Along with Clymer police, members of the National Guard and other first responders will be on hand.
The program, now in its 40th year nationwide, is meant to foster positive relationships between the community and authorities in an effort to make neighborhoods safer.
Blairsville police department has scheduled their National Night Out on Thursday, August 24th from 5-7 PM.
