The State Departments of Health and Education has introduced a new learning model for school districts in the substantial community spread counties.
The new option being offered is for elementary schools to go into a blended/hybrid model starting on January 25th in districts located in counties with substantial community spread. That will be offered along with the three other educational models currently recommended by the state, which are fully in-person, fully remote or a hybrid or blended model.
Acting Department of Education Secretary Noe Ortega said that this is just a new recommendation being offered, and the decision on what option to go with will remain with the district.
The updated recommendations are intended to help schools begin the process of bringing as many students back to in-person education during the 2020-2021 school year.
