An Indiana County Nursing Home received their first round of doses of Covid-19 vaccine earlier this week.
St. Andrews Village received the first round of doses of the Pfizer vaccine on January 4th. The nursing facility worked with CVS Pharmacy to distribute the vaccines to those who wanted them, and also were on hand to inform employees, residents and their families about the vaccine. Brian Parks, the senior executive director at St. Andrews Village, talked about how many people were vaccinated that first day.
Parks called the vaccinations a good first step towards returning to normal, but said that there is still a ways to go.
Those who received the first dose on the 4th are scheduled to receive their second dose on January 25th. Parks said that staffers and residents who change their mind and wish to receive the first dose or those who are new to the facility will be able to receive their first dose on that day as well.
