While the double homicide trial of Nathanael Price is scheduled for November, his co-defendant in the October 2016 murders of Timothy Gardner and Jacqueline Brink continues to pursue an appeal of his conviction and life sentence, and there’s been some movement in that case.
Justin Stevenson pleaded guilty to two counts of second degree murder and is serving life in prison without the chance for parole. On July 19th, Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco heard a defense motion to disqualify the State Attorney General’s office from the appeal and the subsequent withdrawal of that motion. He also granted the prosecution’s motion to compel the defense to produce a witness’ statements and documentation, and granted in part a defense motion to bar certain evidence or testimony.
Last week, the judge issued a transportation order for Stevenson to be brought to Indiana County from SCI Houtzdale, where he is serving his sentence.
