Indiana Area School Superintendent Mike Vuckovich says the district has been notified of eleven positive, presumed positive, and/or symptomatic coronavirus cases. However, all of them took place over the holiday break when schools were closed, and none of the confirmed cases apply toward the rolling fourteen-day count, so classes remain in-person throughout the district.
Indiana Area has no active cases at any of its six schools. Vuckovich warns that because of dire predictions for January’s covid count, families should be prepared in case they have to switch to 100 percent remote learning.
None of Indiana County’s other school districts report new cases of coronavirus.
